Wide-Eyed White Owl Bank

Project Description: Add some ghoulish charm to your Halloween decor with an owl that's as white as a ghost! Give the Duncan® Oh Four® Retro Owl Bank a spooky look with Duncan® Concepts® Underglazes.

Instructions:
  1. Wipe owl with damp sponge to remove bisque dust. Remove rubber stopper from bottom of owl.
  2. Brush two coats Light Gray over feathers on back and between toes and crevice where body sits on toes. Let dry.
  3. Use slightly damp sponge to wipe back paint on feathers leaving the gray in the carved details. Repeat over toes.
  4. Brush three coats Really White to owl brushing over feathers and toes leaving the gray to show through. Brush around eyes leaving the center unpainted. Let dry.
  5. Brush thin line Light Kiwi around the center pupil. Let dry.
  6. Brush three coats Bright Saffron around the Light Kiwi. Let dry.
  7. Brush three coats Light Gray around the Saffron to add depth. Let dry.
  8. Add a thin line of Black around the yellow part of eyes, tip of beak and toenails. Let dry completely.
  9. Brush a coat of Pure Brilliance to owl including bottom. Let dry.
  10. Stilt on kiln shelf and fire to cone 06.
