Technique Description: Spattering is a quick and easy way to add color highlights over a painted design or a plain base coat.
Step 1: Sponge paints
Place a small amount of color on palette. Use underglazes, glazes and nonfired colors. Apply 1 to 3 coats of lighter color around rim of bisque plate, using a slightly dampened sponge. Let dry.
Step 2: Repeat with darker color
Rinse sponge. Repeat using darker color, allowing under color to show through here and there. One or more colors can be sponged on for interesting effects.
